        ... ups needed some practice but they were a cheerful lot, waving to us as they jogged by in their wet suits, an enthusiastic little dog running with them. We spent quite a bit of time there, mesmerised by the waves - the blue skies and sun's rays were deceptive - it was cold, the wind making it all the colder; it was probably about 5-7C.

        We then walked along Cliff Path, and Gearings Point, supposedly one of the best spots for land-based whale watching - but ...

        Day 27 - The Cliff Path Walk

        ... about 0.1mph. After 30 minutes it had finally passed us and we continued our walk. The cliff path was indeed spectacular as it meandered along the coast. Every 50 yards or so was a bench at a lookout point. On top of the sight of whales out at sea, the path passed through lush multicoloured vegetation that was teeming with bird life and many Rock Hyrax'. Up close they are not cute, but more like overgrown fat rats! After just 2km we had reached the Old Harbour ...

Because of this combo-options and a weird way of pricing, we three economists took about 10 minutes who to order most effectively – pay less, get more! Nevertheless, after some time we ordered something and it was AAAWESOMMMEEE‼! Platter for two, 12 prince prawns, 10 mussels, fish, grilled calamari, fried calamari heads, rice and stuff for like 25$.... for that price you rarely get ...

        ... Bed and Breakfast, checked in and then went to explore the town while it was still daylight. Hermanus is very well known for its whale watching during season from June to November. Tourists come here to see the Southern Right Whales. We parked in the centre of the small town and walked along the cliff edge. There was a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and sea. We were also lucky enough to have some whale sightings in the distance. We saw them ...
