... about it. I think I need to have a handout ready! So our destination was St Mathieu de Treviers. We passed some wonderful scenery and tremendous rock formations, and ended up at a little aire where we could sit and look towards the mountains where Pic St Loup is the highest peak. We can see an old Cathar castle perched on the ridge. The French are tight! This aire has free water but you pay €5 to park overnight. They sneak in and fill up and clean their loo cassettes ...

... beautiful little town that hasn't been tampered with. Little streets and quaint houses. We did notice that there was a lot of flood damage along the river. In fact, a young Frenchman drove his van into the car ...

But it was a noisy aire. You don't want pictures of rain - do ...

We woke to sun again today (yay!). We had breakfast and then headed to the weekly marche in Anduze. Before we could start we had to find a parking spot in one of the several parking areas that are created around the edge of the town for visitors. It seemed the weekly market is pretty popular as we drove from parking area to parking area with no luck. Finally dada dropped the girls and went looking further away where he met up with several glaring aggressive French ...

... the better of us. Perhaps if we see them in London we will indulge!

Upon returning home we finally plunged into the pool to be immediately refreshed. The temperature was now in the mid twenties and has been even hotter in recent days, but the pool water is still really quite cold and has the desired effect!

The balance of the day was spent reading (several books on the go right now including The Hare with Amber Eyes by Edmund de ...
