Thursday & Friday Oct 23&24 With Geoff, our host, as navigator we drove two and half hours to Bouzigues which is a fishing village on the south coast. Our restaurant was part of an oyster and seafood processing plant so what was offered was very fresh. To start we shared three dozen oysters natural before having fish and prawns. Wonderful to return. The Ardeche Gorge is magnificent, the colours, the light, the amazing views from the road along the top, which David took in his stride driving along (lots of 100 metre sheer drops) whilst I gripped the seat in despair. It was an odd but very unique and spectacular experience.

There was plenty to keep us busy in Nimes itself outside of the feria activities ...

We woke to sun again today (yay!). We had breakfast and then headed to the weekly marche in Anduze. Before we could start we had to find a parking spot in one of the several parking areas that are created around the edge of the town for visitors. It seemed the weekly market is pretty popular as we drove from parking area to parking area with no luck. Finally dada dropped the girls and went looking further away where he met up with several glaring aggressive French ...

... the better of us. Perhaps if we see them in London we will indulge!

Upon returning home we finally plunged into the pool to be immediately refreshed. The temperature was now in the mid twenties and has been even hotter in recent days, but the pool water is still really quite cold and has the desired effect!

The balance of the day was spent reading (several books on the go right now including The Hare with Amber Eyes by Edmund de ...
