... took us part way to the top, after which we negotiated several flights of steep stairs in a strong wind. The stairs had solid stone guardrails. The trip was not dangerous; it just took a moment to catch our breath at the top. We could not enter the lighthouse, so there was not much to do at the top except take photos.

Returning to where we left the bus, we ate lunch at the Two Oceans ...

... in the first group of 8. I was actually really nervous as the guy gave us a really short demonstration of what to do in the cage, so I think I panicked a little bit. However, once we'd got into the cage it was fairly straight forward what we did and my nerves settled as the adrenalin kicked in.

We each had a little section of the cage, with our heads just poking above sea level, they would throw the bait out on a rope which would attract the shark, then they would drag it ...

... this point i am dead scared that the shark is gonna come back for the fish head, which is hanging inside the cage just next to me! I take my hand around the ugly fish head, and push it away, to the free Ocean. We are ok. I believe i was lucky not to witness another attack towards the fish head just next to me inside the cage. All of this happens in few seconds of course, but you get your adrenaline out of it. I saw 3-4 sharks ...

... dirty space and no food. Heart wrenching. When we washed Catherine's hair, literally black sludge came out. She seemed grateful, but could not speak to tell us because of the stroke. Bobby was in horrible health too. He was a chain smoker so I spent some time giving him the obvious lecture about smoking and its effects. He almost acted shocked. Which here, doesn't surprise me. They may very well not realize how horrible addictive habits can be. ...

... on. In Malaysia all public demonstrations are illegal unless approved by the government (which is far from routine) and the government controls the principal media. It's not as crudely obvious as in tin-pot regimes like Zimbabwe -- you have to pay attention for a few days, but it soon becomes clear. Harsh and satirical criticism of the South African President is found in the media. In Malaysia much milder criticism is construed as seditious.
