... both turned up at 5.20. Back at the hotel it was get change and be down for dinner at 5.50. But because of the bus mix up a number of students were late. The buses were back at 6.30 but the students had not been served. We left around 6.50 and drove back. Another walk this time a power walk of 20 minutes. The concert was lovely. Today we went to a different country: the Vatican! Thank goodness for online reservations, because that really cut our wait time. Didn't stop us from having to walk the gauntlet of tour guides though. Another massive museum which we got through a pretty large chunk of. They have an impressive collection on antiquities, which as Tom points out they stole most of and are now charging us to see. Up in time to record the 7am church bells. Really hope it works cos it will definitely make you feel like you are here with us :) Thankfully I saw the first bus arrive so we would not be faced with the daunting prospect of hauling our luggage down those notorious steps...woo hoo! ... to keep track of your tour guide. We then went to the Sistene Chapel & saw Michaelangelo's masterpieces - unfortunately not allowed to take any photos (although a couple of people did!!) As it's a chapel, you are supposed to be silent but this was impossible for lots of people there and security were constantly asking people to be quiet.
