... the shop used to belong to his dad who'd cycled the Tour five times in his life. The current owner himself had done several of the classics, including Liege - Bastogne - Liege. We were truly impressed. He set us on or way, straight down the main road to Namur and we are now sitting here, in another beautiful Belgian city, by the river Meuse with clear skies in a truly lovely youth hostel. ... br> We immediately noticed that the houses were more grandiose with steeples, onion towers and turrets so when we did see a box house it did look totally out of place. Again this whole section of the river had a back drop of high cliffs and heavily wooded hillside and really beautiful. Shame about the weather! The rain continued and it caused mist to form on the cliff faces and the higher tree line. We tried to capture it on photos.

After the history lesson, we continued on the busy road for another couple of hours. Not the most enjoyable riding. By now, it was 4:30 pm and I was ready to be done for the day.
