          ... the Hotel de la Gare. When you are as fluent in French as I am you would know that means the railroad station hotel, which is where our car rental place is for tomorrow. The room is small, about the quality of a Motel 6, but clean and convenient. Dinner tonight was at a little street cafe down the road.           ... Army Rangers scaled the rugged limestone cliffs.

        • We finally made our way to Cherbourg for a quick visit atop the Fort du Roulette a high promontory overlooking the city and harbor. There appears to be little left of the 'old city' as the town was significantly demolished during the war.

        • We had a wonderful dinner and bottle of St Emilion wine for dinner back near the hotel in Honfleur.

          ... coast for about 5kms before hitting the coast road. Saw some magnificent coastline and stopped for photos at a few choice spots.
          Places visited included, Greville, Beaumont - Hague and Vauville

          All up, 52kms and back in time for the TdF

          Out for dinner in Cherbourg town at the Cafe de Paris with Rosa, Norbert and Chris.
