I decided to go from something very contemporary to an American classic - a decision sort of forced by the fact that English books are hard to come by in foreign countries. Pat returned to the beach with beers and pretzels and made delicious sandwiches out of some very flavourful meats and cheeses he picked up at a deli. Croatian meat is some of ...

It was the last day and everyone was very tired. We had lunch on the boat and sat up on deck reading while people slept. The boat landed back in Split in the early afternoon. Raff told us that he'd booked an apartment because he wanted a good sleep before flying home to Bulgaria early the next morning. He asked if we'd stay with him, so we packed up our bags and set out in search for the apartment. It was so hot in Split ...
