... br> That night we wandered over to Bangla Road which is the Patong Beach party street. Equipped with enough She-Males to go around, the street is exactly the beach party town you imagine in movies or books. We explored the fantastically inexpensive drink bargains on the road, met foreigners, and ended up singing along to a Thai band that did covers of Top 40 hits. A great first night and a strong indication of the few days to come.

At some point in the evening, a shrimp sizzles on a plot of grill real estate previously occupied by bacon and the grill reaches its own state of culinary Nirvana where every new piece of meat teases the taste buds with the suggestion of all the cuts that had gone before it.
