Day 1 (continued):: After a 3 hour bus ride, we made it to Amsterdam! Now we had to make our way from Amstel station, to Centraal station, to Schiphol Airport, to the hotel! With that many transfers there was bound to be a mistake somewhere, and of course there was. ... so much steel shielding to prevent stray magnetic fields it was in a separate building! Finally we were shown their brachy MR scanner, the MR scanner is in a brachy theatre, the US machine for applicator/needle insertion and the HDR afterloader are not MR compatible so are tied to the walls with rope to stop them getting close to the scanner!!

Afterwards we had drinks and nibbles back outside the lecture theatre. It was a shame ...
