Kampot en Sinoukville liggen niet ver bij elkaar vandaan, dus hebben eindelijk een keer een korte bustrip. We horen van heel veel toeristen dat het strand bij Sinoukville niet meer is wat het geweest is. Als je mooi strand wilt kan je beter naar Otres Beach gaan. Het blijkt alleen wel aan de prijzige kant te zijn... maar we willen nu eindelijk op …

... so they had the freedom to do what they liked. They apologized for their friend and said he had drank too much. We then ordered another beer and sat at the bar chatting with pat until about 00:30. We had heard of the bioluminescence in the water at night and decided to go for a swim. We walked into the bay under the moonlight sky and sat in the water for about 30 minutes before heading to our bungalow. Today I woke up feeling a little more worse for ware. Antibiotics for me too it would seem. We creamed up, bug sprayed and went for a swim.

After being in the water for over half an hour, Edd swam out to the buoy and I waded my way back to shore, taking a fresh water shower under the tree. We'd left all our valuables upstairs in the room, so went to fetch my iPad and our phones and then resumed position on a lounger.

We were pretty hungry when Edd finally made ...

... different bus. We then drove 4 hours back to Phnom Pen..not really any pee stops here, so when you see one dash you all file out pretty quickly. We arrived in Phnom Pen at 11:30pm, to be told our bus will only be leaving at 1:30am..hmm what to do for 2 American chap came to chat to us for a bit. A bus pulled in at 12:30 and it was ours..yay. Our driver looked stoned or really really tired, I did not take this as a good sign. Anyway turns out he got to sleep ...

... they nearly passed out and then dunking them in stagnant water so they could continue questioning them, whipping their backs until they bled and so on. Prisoners were sometimes also made to eat their own excrement. The cells were unbelievably small probably less than a metre wide!! How some people managed to survive in some of these conditions is beyond me. Even wandering round the prison you could still see scratch marks along the stair well walls and blood stains ...
