So glad too be back!
25th - 26th Sept I arrived at Khao San road at around three, then the search for a hostel was on. The very first hostel I went into I saw Roxanne sat at the computer so we spoke about where I would stay. I had a quick look down Khao San road but in the end came to the conclusion it was going to be easier to stay with the girls. For the rest of the …
Bangkok, Khao San Road, and a Reclining Buddha
Days 28-32 28.06.10 – 02.07.10
Air transit days are never easy, and there is always a feeling that you are wasting valuable sightseeing/beach combing/socialising time. We flew from Bali to Jakarta, where we had to kill a few hours before boarding a flight to Bangkok. We could have had one flight from Bali to Bangkok but due to …
Bangkok Take 1
Day 1 11/01/11
We arrived at Bangkok airport at 7:30am having had no sleep, plenty of harassment (at Mumbai airport) and loads of food on the journey. The airport was very clean and modern, a good start just need our beds now. We got the bus to Th Khao San, and checked into our nice, clean room with air con at Khao San Palace Inn.
We …
Bangkok Take 2
Day 1 30/03/11
On the Thai side of the border we were all given stickers by the bus company to indicate where we were traveling onto. In our case, white stickers for Bangkok. We all sat waiting until our coloured sticker was called out. We were called last and all followed the bus company worker who led us to a row of stalls selling drinks, …
Bangkok: Delicious Scorpions & Strong Whiskey
It took 15 hours in the air to finally arrive in Bangkok from Heathrow airport. Thank god it wasn't all at once, we had to chance to stop down in Bahrain, smack dab in the middle east. Now we didn't have to opportunity to leave to airport, but the cultural differences were obvious the moment we stepped off the plane. The shrouded women and men …

The hotel reception showed promise however the room was dark with the noisiest air conditioning unit I have ever experienced. However the noise of the air con did manage to drown out a little of the sound clash going on in Khao San Road. We wanted to check out from the moment we arrived and glad when our departure date arrived. If you are looking for just a place to crash and you plan to party all night it is a good location if you want any sleep at night don't stay here.

Best to avoid during Songkran as it is impossible to leave the resort without being saturated.Good location however limited shopping/restauratns etc during Songkran

The standard double room was nice. Ok bathroom. Warm shower. Plastic bed. Nice crowded swimming pool. Ok for the money. BUT if you want to sleep at night... Don't go here .... The two biggest party places on khao san road is just outside the door , and ALL the music EVERY sound of drunk people is keeping you awake at night. But perfect for the party people.

Tiny rooms and a little pricey... but it is directly on Khao San Road! You definitely pay for the location although this hotel has a sick little rooftop overlooking the city and a pool on it. I would recommend staying away from the main strip but if you can't find anywhere else that has rooms available make sure to check out the roof!

Lovely pool area, room not bad but bad staff attitudes. Won't go back.
