    Clean and simple

The room we had was a corner room which had two big lovely windows facing outwards. The room itself was really run down but clean and the bed had crispy clean sheets. Great location just south of the main Thamel tourist hub.

Nice Hotel But Stay Away from Rajendra

It was the first guesthouse I stayed in Nepal and in my RTW trip. I didn't know what to expect but it had the basic amenties like private bathroom with hot shower, a clean bed and a fan. Breakfast wasn't included although written on their website. It wasn't a big deal though but the real problem was Rajendra, the manager. He is one of the most money-minded, dishonest people I've evet met. Since the first day I arrived, he tried to sell me overpriced tours, exchanged my dollars in a lower rate and under his fake smile and kindness, he was just trying to take as much as money he could from me. After I returned from his tour (%50 more expensive than elsewhere in town), I was supposed to stay 2 nights more at this GH (already paid), but he said the GH was full now so he sent me to another guesthouse which turned out to be half cheaper in the end -so he could save a couple of dollars. Even the bus ticket to Pokhara he sold me was %40 more expensive. I'm so ripped off by him. My advice to you, just stay off him and you'll be ok.

To be honest, Nepal was more attractive than India to me, but I visited India 5 years earlier than Nepal, because there are more convenient flights to India than Nepal. Unfortunately, my stay was very short this time and so I didn't go trekking at all. If you go to the base camp of Mt Everest, it takes two weeks! Maybe I should have taken two week holidays....

... than to change it. Would it not be better for us to alter the motivations which go into our practices rather than merely to find quicker, cheaper, and more destructive means of supporting them?

The Buddha once said “If you can feel the sand between your toes and taste the food within your mouth, then you are already enlightened.” Using these ideals, the Zen tradition has preached a similar proverb: “Before enlightenment; chop wood, fetch ...
