Preparation for this temperate-climate traveller who for many years did not own a winter coat or boots meant deciphering the modern language of cold-weather garb: base layer, insulation layer, sock and mitt liners, neck warmers. What ARE all these items of clothing?? I thank the internet and the excellent staff of Mountain Equipment ...

The next day me, Andy and Reine went for breakfast and a wander round Main Street before I went for a walk on my own around Trout Lake (is it wrong that the name makes me giggle?!). ... areas. We were rather hungry but decided to do the tour first then eat after. A pretty cool looking guy started the tour with the history of the park, which was very interesting and went way back to when it all began. That section ended by him telling us that the lady who currently owns the area visits almost every day, so we may see her! Andre (the guide) then took us around a path and through the totem poles, from where we caught our first glimpse of the bridge! ...
