... in each room they ha carved things out of the ice. It was made to look like a house and there was a bathroom with sink and bath, dining room etc. Some people had brought their dogs with them – it must have been very cold for the poor things. People can take their dogs everywhere in Europe – trains, buses, shops! It was amazing that they had managed to carve it out. They used to do it all with pick axes but now they have a machine but they still need to use pick axes for ...

... wrote that paragraph. I knew I had to write down some feelings when I went to the top otherwise when I'm laying in bed, it's just not the same feeling of accomplishment! (And exhaustion!) The hike was really fun and I am glad I dragged myself to the top. The entire mountain was a lot steeper than it looks and we were doing switchbacks the entire way up. ... 8217;t quite make the Ice Cream cut so we drove up a steep mountain to a town called Beatemberg (no the houses were not made of pink and yellow sponge from the 80’s!) Up there was a restaurant offering spectacular views over the snow covered Eiger, Monch & Jungfrau Mountains – all famous in their own right. The ice cream and cakes weren’t bad either!
