... then got on another 160 bus to the Malaysian border where there were loads of immigration desks open and no queues. From there caught the 170 bus to the Larkin bus station in Johor Bahru {free} and then only had to wait ˝hr for a bus to Mersing, the departure point for Tioman Island. It took 2hrs 15mins and cost twenty ringitts although if i’d shopped around i could have got it for fourteen. Arrived in Mersing at ...

We all slept in a bit oopps! So we had to quickly sort out some means of travel to Malaysia. We got a taxi to the coach station, said farewell to Singapore and set off. Stopped twice on the journey to go through customs but made it to Larkin (town in Malaysia). We then booked a taxi from there to take us to mersing. Little did we know it was the dodgiest taxi!! Pretty sure it was made in the 60s! Had no seat belts in the ...

... the climate. We were right on the beach with the most amazing views.

Juara is quiet ( ish) there are a few hotels here but spread out and there are a few places to eat. To the right of River View is a private house and the lake, so peaceful and stunning. This was what we had been searching for. Clean sheets, no nasty smell in the room and a nice bathroom.

That evening we walked along the beach to find food. We ate at a little restaurant, it was really busy ( too ...
