... so joined the end of it, not really knowing why. The sign confirmed that this was the nursery, yes, that’s right, baby pandas! The infants are carefully monitored whilst the mothers feed but the park had cleverly made one of the walls glass, so as we filed past we saw a baby panda, not yet four weeks old in an incubator, it was about the size of a small puppy, hairless and pink. It was moving around but couldn’t yet sit up ...

I don't know if I have made this clear, but my favorite part of China is the food. You can get a meal for 8 yuan, which is about 1 dollar. You can spend TONS on a meal if you go to a nice restaurant though. I try to find a place that is busy but cheap because you never want to go to ...

After the festival it was time to move on as other than a quick visit to the Buddhist Monastry there really is little to do. This was just as well as the police came to our hostel that evening and said everyone was to get out. Simple as that. Get the bus (for which tickets were now sold out) or get a taxi. When I asked why exactly all they would say is "orders!". Things work a little differently in these parts.

... allowed and that I needed to book a hotel or hostel in Leshan. A small detail which my hostel had neglected to tell me. There I was, carrying only my camera, bank card (thankfully) and water, I didn't even have my Lonely Planet.. My choice came down to either booking a hotel for the night without any of my things with me to get my visa the next day or go back to Chengdu and spend another two days trying all over again... what a ****** choice!
