This afternoon I trekked (and by trekked, I mean squeezed myself into the Metro) over to the Temple of Heaven Park. Most of the rest of the group were heading to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidded City, but given I am here until next Monday I figured there was no point squeezing it all into one afternoon and would prefer to explore it myself later at a more "leisurely" pace.

... Palast, sondern eine riesige Anlage mit einem grossen See. Wir hatten leider viel zu wenig Zeit, die ganze Anlage anzuschauen. Man könnte hier wahrscheinlich locker einen ganzen Tag verbringen. Der eigentlich Palast liegt etwas erhöht auf einem kleinen Berg. Von ganz oben hat man einen genialen Rundumblick über die ganze Palastanlage und man sieht auch ziemlich viel von Peking. Hier würde ich bei meinem nächsten Besuch sicherlich noch einmal hingehen und mir genügend Zeit lassen. ...

Filled with Chinese food, we went to the last major stop for the day--the Great Wall of China at the Badaling section. Once we got pass the entry, the tour guide gave us the option of going left or right. The left incline had fewer stairs but went higher which meant we could get better photos, but the right was less steep, though it had more stairs. We opted for the left.
