As the tour guide spoke no English we thought we were stopping off for a quick toilet break in some sort of tourist attraction resort. Jon got off the bus and I stayed with our belongings. Hello from Chongqing, China's grubbiest city!

We arrived late at night, after our internal flight from Guillin was delayed. Nothing exciting to report about our flight, although we were given seaweed-covered peanuts as the in-flight snack, which was great, and Mr H discovered a game called Monkey Boxing on the swanky tablet provided for entertainment.

... going to show us was a ghost town! A part of Chongqing, that had been planned, but never populated in the least as it was supposed to.

We were surprised and quite happy to have ended up here rather than in a conventional museum.
