Getting to Costa Rica from Nicaragua

... so we wandered around and found the place where we had to get our exit stamp from Nicaragua. All was good, until we realized that where we were looked like some kind of bus terminal and we had no idea where the entry to Costa Rica was.
Standing around confused, a man came up to us who was selling tickets for the Tica Bus! The very bus we were supposed to be on at 6AM that morning. We decided to make our lives easier and bought two tickets for 12 bucks ...

... sights that I saw and the remarkable people that I met.

Before coming to Nicaragua I imagined a very impoverished country, full of bugs and dirty places and people. Not that I didn’t see that stuff… but I realized the country and people were so much more than that. It was amazing to me how people were down here – when all of them live on basically nothing. They love to play soccer, even in bare feet ...

Well - 6:45am came around really early this morning... haha but everyone was up and ready to go! Today truly was a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. Who else can say they went kayaking, boating, ziplining, and ate Nicaraguan cake for their birthday?! It was awesome... everyone was so sweet all day and truly made me feel really special =)

It is getting late, so I need to make ...

... customs forms, we also had to fill in a health declaration sheet as well. I filled them out in Spanish :D As I walked into the baggage claim area, I found that the entire left wall was made of glass, where crowds of people waiting to receive the passangers. They were all intently peering through the glass, presumably to see if they could spot the person they were waiting for. Of course, the baggage carts were ...

... want to be a big girl and so I will wait for the reason this happened... THERE MUST be a reason, or...!!! THe really bad thing is beeing in a very nice little city and not be able to walk around, make pictures or just buy some food. The hostal people are very nice, they will by me food and so I have now much time to jump around on my one leg, to read (Richard Bach, The Bridge...), to mail, to think about the deeper meaning of this action. I send you many heartcoming greetings home!!!

First day in Granada

... It seemed quite wealthy - again, judging by gardens inside. A lot of people watch tvs right near street door. We also saw a horse with legs tied together - very sad. Passed by a few churches. The ones that are old and not renovated are especially nice. Got to the cemetery: Interesting sculptures in some places, but nothing special. The oldest we saw was buried in 1942. It's interesting that they had mango trees in the cemetery, and local kids were ...

Youth Mission Trip to Nicaragua

... in Managua. We split up into small groups and went door to door visiting. I went with my daughter and a male teenager from there. Everyone was so friendly and open to the Gospel. It started to rain, so a man let us come sit with him and his family on their porch. We got to share the Gospel with him. There was a language barrier, but we managed to talk with him. He said that he had a ...
