We had a relatively quiet start to this morning as our walking tour did not start until 10.30. This gave us time to shower, pack, breakfast, vibes mums ( mum S was not answering) and Bethany. It is lovely to hear some news from home. We arrived punctually as that's how we roll and the guide did not turn up. A few others were there waiting as well. We gave up and decided to do it ourselves as we really only have a short time until the train leaves at 2 .05 pm. We went to ...

Next to the Duomo is Vittorio Emanuele 11, which is an upmarket shopping arcade (not a movie) that has the most amazing glass dome ceiling and mosaic flooring, the shops and restaurants are all very high class. We figured it must be good and as I was up for a coild beer and a slice of pizza we had to check it ...

Luckily when we reached Urio the rain let up for a while. The only cafe near the dockside turned out to be a restaurant, despite having "cafe" written ...

Having finished packing up the car with what seemed to be three times as much as we brought with us - how come it fit getting here, and doesn't on our way back? - we added a trip to a supermarket to fill up with cheap booze and Baci chocolates - ah that explains it!

Marco turned ...

... had stayed, months before - about 15 blocks from the Duomo, and right next to the Da Vinci Last Supper church.

It was a bit cold and wet, but we walked up to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which is an impressive shopping mall, and into the Duomo - unfortunately, the Duomo is being renovated (a never-ending process, I am sure), and was extremely noisy with sandblasting and grinding. To be honest, it isn't a Cathedral that does much for me - its ...
