... a source of money. I’ve learnt that sometimes, you need to keep trying, but that sometimes you need to know when to give up. I’ve learnt about compromising. I’ve learnt to work with people from all over the world, and hopefully, they’ve learnt to work with me.
And I’ve still got another year to go! Question is, how much have I pushed out of my brain to make room for these things? How much will I have to re-learn when I ...
... as many tears! I am really going to miss Lenana and all the people that have opened up their homes and hearts to us. I will never be able to thank them enough!
But I have to get going! My blogs will likely not be as detailed while on the overland tour, but I will try my best!
Next stop, Tanzania tomorrow!! :)
Love you all!

... last night... needless to say Denise and I both went to bed hungry. We were polite and said we ate too much Halloween candy at Junction and that is why we weren't hungry. I took one for the team and ate some ughali though.
Hope everyone is enjoying your extra hour of sleep today!! No one has turned back the clocks here... we don't know what is going on! lol
Love you all and miss you tons!!

... a circle looking at something. We got out to investigate and found ourselves staring at seven foot long python that the park rangers had "rescued" from a house nearby. Pretty scary creature. That night we had an all you can eat pizza dinner for €6. It was sooooo good!
The following morning we packed up and left for Crayfish Camp in Lake Naivasha. We got to the campsite before lunch and spent the early afternoon playing frisbee and cricket. By we I mean most people....I ...
... and - to our amazement - a big box of eggs. We also had a delightful and talented cook called Demitrius and a wonderfully patient and knowlegable guide, Sammy.
Our very first day began with some excitement; boots, bags and hats on, we were all ready to set off when a family of elephants decided to cross the track we were about to start down about 200ft infront of us.We waited for about half an hour until it was decided that it was safe to go. 5 minutes in ...
... that we try a tour company across the street. They too had little interest in the mattress, but suggested we try a camping safari company upstairs. We huffed and puffed up the stairs to the 7th floor of this rundown building, and cautiously felt our way down a dark hallway until we saw the proper sign on a door. We knocked and entered, and found ourselves in the middle of a group of 8 black men, sitting around in chairs. Feeling foolish, Steph ...
Nairobi, Kenya chadsteph... greeted us with a mixture of trepidation and drumming) are apparently afraid the cameras will steal their souls. except the children who were dying to be "snapped"!
our supervisor is now back from freetown and so this week have been in theatre a lot, got to be assistant on a CS of a woman who'd had a previous leiomyomectomy (bloody hell!) and was now 28 weeks pregnant but they couldn't let it continue. miraculously the baby survived and ...
... let her focus on her studies. We are looking for a sponsor or sponsorers for Lilian because she needs to get out of this environment and into a good school as soon as possible to further her studies. After leaving Sho Sho's house along with all of Kharees's cousins, aunts, and uncles, we continued the several hour drive to the Mugo Family Household. The landscape changed greatly within these three or so hours. At Sho Sho's house, the land was green, lush, and I felt ...
Nairobi Kenya, Coast, Kenya taliasegal... fun. We kept telling them not to give us the muzungu price (the white people price), in other words the expensive tourist price. I got a really pretty banana leaf picture in the shape of Kenya for only 175 Kenyan Shillings plus my bright green hair tie. The man really wanted that hair tie haha.
Tomorrow is a busy day because we’re getting up early to work with a group called Community Transformers, which got started by a man who basically took 37 ...
... accepted, be careful!
Another drive and we get to the tented camp that is going to be our home during next 3 nights. Seems quite good, just beside Olollamuitia gate at the reserve, next to a Masai village.
We can start our safari now!
WOW!
Lots of animals to start: Grant gazelle, wildebeasts, Impala, zebra, Thomson gazelles, ostrichs... We keep on driving inside the huge reserve and we meet our first cheetahs, great! They are so ...
