      Europa Park

A travel blog entry by jtate on Dec 26, 2014

Today we went to Europa Park. The park is separated into all the different areas of Europe. From Russia to Spain to Iceland. It is themed like that country and has rides, shows and entertainment. Not opened at 11 so we got there early so we could go straight in and go on some rides without the queues. There still were queues though. We started with a bobsled roller coaster that Ash cracked me up! Her words- I don't like this, I don't like this, AHHHH! And at the end she wouldn't admit it ...

... the house. I got a selfie stick :) Then we had lunch at my Fabs parents house again. Odell is a fantastic cook! We had entree of garlic butter escargot(snails). I had 15 snails and after huge negativity for trying them for 6 months, Ashleigh caved and had 5. They certainly weren't as bad as she thought. Main was served and we had wild boar. Apparently it has been alive and running around a week earlier. It was fantastic. Tasted like ...

So we will have time to explore when we get there, before we can check in. I was glad we made Strasbourg our Christmas stop over. Gave us a chance to rest and relax after some busy stop overs in London and Paris. The legs and ankles are nearly back to normal, with Rome coming up in a few days time, I am sure I will be hurting again very ...

... chocolate covered fruit and all sorts! We went into Strasbourg Cathedral and were in awe of the size of the building. It was massive! There was a nativity scene that told the story of Christmas. Ash lit a candle for her Dad and had a special moment. It was very special. We left the cathedral and continued shopping the markets until we went and had dinner. After dinner we got a free ride on the tram to wait for fab to pick us up. We went back home and ...

Traveling to Strasbourg from Freiburg (and back!) costs us only 13 Euros each. And of cos, about an hour of our time. Feels exactly like the journey from Singapore to Johor Bahru (inclusive of traffic-jams).

We spent most days pigging out on croissants, baguettes, fresh ...
