... that, again, we wouldn't be able to go diving. The weather had been bad during the night, with raging thunderstorms, so we held out little hope that snorkelling would be any good. Instead we decided to go to a local attraction, the Botanical Garden. This one was open! We had a good wander around, admiring the bromeliads, banana trees, rubber trees, rainforest area and giant palms. As usual for us, the highlights were animal related - poisonous ...

... beach but it was a fairly quiet night as we didn't know anyone having just arrived. The following day I woke early to go for a run, only to return to find a sloth and a howler monkey in the tree above our hut! A chilled few days in this Caribbean beach ...

... luxury coaches with reclining seats. Our bus was neither of the extremes. We had a 4 1/2 hour ride which we went pretty fast. We ate our 'bus baguettes' for lunch which we made the day before. They were stacked sandwiches of tummy goodness. After bus lunch I dozed off a bit and woke up by dribbling on myself. Classy. Eventually (after worrying we missed our stop) we arrived at the costal town. We had a hostel booked 6km away but as soon as we touched down people were trying ...

We left Nicaragua on February 18 to spend a week in Costa Rica. Our first stop was the lovely Santa Teresa, on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. This being a town centered around surfing, it was easy to spend a couple days sitting under the palms watching all the action in the water. We posted a few great beach shots, including some pictures of the beautiful sunsets. We were going to continue our travels down the Pacific, but ...
