... We got drenched! It looks a beautiful city even on a wet day. It is pronounced "Buda pessch". Another language I can speak. The City took a terrible pounding in the War. It was a long siege, like Lemingrad but not remembered in our history because they were on the losing side. Well, a slightly slow start this morning but at least the weather is a little finer in Amsterdam! Plan for the day is to visit some museums and the Anne Frank House. Setting off relatively early we headed to Ms Frank's and frankly that girl has become too popular for her own good! The queue for a ticket was 1500 people long and snaked a long way around the streets of Amsterdam. I've been before and Craig decided he didn't need to see ...

... me (no GPS for me), and just the open road in front of me.

No need to totally plan the trip, as I know from experience that the best lanes will reveal themselves when I talk to the locals. But of course I need to have some direction, so first plan is to follow some 'scenic routes' shown on my map. Making my way to Oxford, bypassing busy London.

I love England for the pub signs, they are so beautiful and funny, the cob stone walls, ...
