... legend of the Nibelungs goes back to the 5th century, and was recorded in a famous epic poem in the 12th or 13th century. The word Nibelungen is transferred from a legendary race of Germanic dwarfs and their treasure, to the followers of Siegfried, and finally to the Burgundians which are portrayed in the poem. I believe I might have enjoyed this museum had I been alone, or with other literature nerds like me. But I was with medical doctors who have no background in ...
Worms, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany byron_and_tracy... early-morning walks have been the go-to thearpy.
Every morning this past week, Dante and I have arisen a little earlier than usual to walk down the street to the bike path, where our morning walk commences. Normally, the fog blankets the sun in an attempt to lull it back to sleep, hindering me from knowing if it's 7 or 10 in ...

Today I signed up for the Mountaineer Gym, a big exercise center on post. I see they have yoga class for FREE!!! so you'd better believe I'll be doing that. Lots of good classes for free. Okay, back to the dissertation. Enjoy the photos!
... lease we decide to move on to another option that Tracy's German secretary had told her about - a converted country house from the 19th century. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my memory card with me today so that I could upload the photos I've taken. Those will come tomorrow of the next day. For now, I have only four photos for you, each taken at our house.

From Ramstein, we all left for an antique store on top of what seemed like a mountain. As we approached the general area, I spied some kind of spire on top of a distant hill. The low-hanging clouds covered the higher sections of the spire, so it gave the appearance of ...
... differences, but it might be just chronological; we haven't known each other for long. It may take some time to create a bond. My wife introduced us a little over a week ago and cutely skipped off for us to become acquainted. It takes a little convincing to get him to go along with the plans I make on any given day, but he inevitably acquiesces in my decree and comes along. This morning we took a trip together, which I'll write about in short order.
Baumholder, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany byron_and_tracy... t like the act of learning on the job when it's something that could easily be €o$tly or dangerous.
Driving in Germany, I learn, is actually pretty similar to driving in the United States in many ways, but there are just enough differences (for example, right-of-way rules) to make it an undesirable experience, at first. A third and final reason I was somewhat dreading going to the Housing ...
... there are castles on hilltops everywhere. When we arrived to Haischebachstrasse (our street), I saw that the neighborhood was a good one: well maintained, nice houses, and adjacent to a park. Tracy did a great job finding a dwelling for us. We turned left through an open gate and up a short driveway to park. Our house is surrounded by lush vegetation, which makes it invisible from the street. You can see photos of it here. See it for the first time was truely the highlight of my day.

Männheim, Germany nstarkey77... to get a drink, and then we keep walking. We got a little turned around, so we stop to ask another couple. Only, they really didn't speak much English. So, we keep walking, and we see another person. Monica says "entschuldigung," or "excuse me" to him, and before she can even finish her phrase, the guys says, "Oh, no I'm sorry, I don't speak German." So, we realize he speaks English...which was very nice. He directed us a bit further, though not confident in his ...
