... crossed the Danube by ferry, then headed to Balassagyarmat and the Hungary/Slovakia border.

... By early morning it was raining, vertical rain with no wind and it was cold. So we packed up a wet tent was packed and headed off to our planned destination of the High Tantra’s in Slovakia northern areas. The area is famous for its high altitude rocky mountains and trees. High above the alpines amongst the clouds, I gaze upon the pine trees and valley towns. Birds echo along the foothills as clouds scoot up the ravine, perched on a granite boulder, I enjoy the stillness. Passing the ridge we venture down through the trees to the distant sound of water. Purple and yellow flowers line the edge of the grassy granite path as we venture upon the mountain ridge towards Mt Chleb. The fresh alpine air cleanses my lungs from the metropolis's stain. ... a while, before deciding to head back down the mountain and back to the hostel to get changed and go swimming in the pool which was opposite. Not only was this a pool, but it had water slides and there was also a sauna which you could pay a little bit extra to go to. We opted to pay the little bit extra. We spent two hours here, making use of the slides, the rapids, the hot tubs, the swimming and the sauna. It was brilliant. We had a lot of laughs ...
