... however they really don't do Bern any justice. We were wishing we had of stayed here overnight rather than Zurich... Lunch time stop is at the picturesque town of Montreux. Yes another 'jaw droppingly' stunning place. I think I will be using that description quite a bit during this tour! Montreux is situated on the shores of Lake Genève and wow! ... as well, our longest tunnel being 17 kms. We had welcome drinks looking out over Lake Thun, watching the sun go down. Bernhard cooked us a great meal, the highlight being wild boar fillet. ... but we got a glimpse of St. Nicholas all dressed in white with a long white beard. It was definitely not Santa Claus but a figure that stood for something more holy. This procession dates back centuries and it was evident that we were apart of a very traditional Switzerland festival.

... We left with Vreni, Werner, Remmy and Jessie about 8pm to go via Lake Thun to a school hall where there was a traditional yodeling and dancing concert on. There were two male choirs harmonizing and yodeling and a group of ladies doing the dancing.
