Friday June 5th 'The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page' St Augustine. Famous words but ones I think we certainly agree with as we awaken to the 6'oclock bells of the convent right outside our window. The old town runs east to west down a hill. I knew little about the government and occurrences in Belarus before this meeting, and I must say that after, I feel a bit ashamed. Europe's last dictatorship is but a short ride away from where I sit now. It makes much more sense as to why so many people from Belarus travel to Lithuania just for shopping alone. I won't be giving you a history lesson, and ...

... We got up at 6 am and jumped on our Lux Express bus to Riga, a four-hour ride, followed by four hours in Riga for you guessed it – lunch in Old Town Riga – then another four hour bus ride to Tallin where we stay the night.

The bus is infinitely better than the trains so far. Comfortable, smooth, clean. Seemingly safe, but ask me again after you see the Lux Express rollover disaster on CNN that’s sure to come...
