Hostal Villa Manuelita
Travel Blogs from Pisco
Day one in Peru!
After a long and basic Iberia flight we arrived in Lima to spend my first ever night in a hostel. I got used to the scruffiness and lack of loo roll pretty quick and we slept for 11 hours. The free breakfast consisted of rolls and jam served on snowman place mats... Festive! First plan was to escape Lima by bus, it seemed like such a busy city and with all property and cars locked behind big fences, and security guards at every turn it didn't ...
Sandboarding and that
After waking up at ridiculous o'clock to watch Arsenal get spanked by Man United we were picked up and taken to some sand dunes on the way to Pisco. The dune buggy looked to be quite tame as it was enormous but we were really thrown about and it was thrilling. We also had a go at sand-boarding which was fun if a little scary. We are going to the oldest cemetery in South America tomorrow I a, looking forward to that it should be ...

I was told that the driver would pick me up in reception at 9am to drop me off in Huacachina (pronounced wok-a-cheena). Where in Huacachina he was dropping me off, I was not entirely sure. I wasn't sure if today was going to be photo crazy like yesterday was, but I was a little more prepared. I had washed my hair, made sure I had make up on, and ...
Our own oasis in the desert
... today. Sarah and I chose to document the excursion with photographs and save ourselves the inevitable sand-seeking-every-crevice reality which was sure to be the outcome however successful you were. It appreared to be slow going but our 3 professionals truly did put on a show and were among the best of the bunch, a testament to their snowboarding heritage fostered on the snow in the Great White North. There were 3 separate dunes which we were raced around to conquer and ...
