Philippi 383 Puerto Natales, Patagonia, Chile, 56-61-411553
Next country, Chile. Will be crossing between Argentina and Chile while going north.
Right next to the border of Argentina, things are still different here. The supermarket has a decent selection of food to choose from. People look different. More native looking I would say.

Just found out my boat to ...
Puerto Natales, Patagonia, Chile olace... right back, with not many people on the bus, we laid our seats down and tried to sleep. The roads became really icy on the way and the surrounding area was covered with snow which was really beautiful. We arrived just before noon and tried to get another bus direct to El Calafate but the only bus we could find left at 7.30am each morning. We booked ourselves on to the bus ...
Puerto Natales, Patagonia, Chile dlz... in the tent..) Day 4 (Los Perros to Paso): Enjoyment has commenced, gone are the fears only to be replaced by adrenalin and amazing views of mountain peaks, glaciers and winding valleys in autumn colours. There is enough beauty to hurt your eyes as much as the hike hurts your feet. We mounted the beast with gusto even though we were overtaken within the first 30 minutes of the climb. We gave ourselves ten hours to finish, this section is graded "difficult" with a ...
Puerto Natales, Patagonia, Chile kc2009... of the coastline. The following morning we were awoken by an announcement that we had reached the glacier Pio XI, the biggest glacier in South America. Everyone rushed out on deck as the ship got as close to the 100m high glacier face as safely possible. It was an impressive sight. The shoreline continued to be impressive all the way to Puerto Natales and the weather was kind enough to allow sitting on deck in the sunshine, although I have to point out it was still very cold. The boat ...
Puerto Natales, Patagonia, Chile littlemisbakpak... wind must have hit us at around 10,000 mph, sideways. Just as you think you´ve got used to it (by leaning into the wind) it suddenly stops and you fall over! The three towers of Torres Del Paine were well worth the walk. They were created 10 million years ago when rising moulten lava failed to reach the earths surface and solidified. Since then errosion of the softer land around them occurred to expose the crazy teeth like granite structures. The three main towers ...
Puerto Natales, Patagonia, Chile samandchantal... left. We also had plenty of time till the bus came. We got back to the road head and had a short walk back around to the park office where we would be picked up. Once there more trekkers arrived in dribs and drabs as it got closer to the buses arrival at eight. We were then bused back to civilization were beer was cheaper and so was the food. We rounded of this trek with a massive fillet of salmon with chips and a big beer from the restaurant in our hostel. Good times.
Puerto Natales, Patagonia, Chile feeandpete... Mick was helicoptered to a hospital in Punta Arenas. Since all the drama we have visited him in the hospital. At the moment, he has improved and doesn´t look like he will need surgery. He had blood on the brain and was in ICU but it seems as if it has been reabsorbed. In addition he has broken three vertebrae and will need a back brace for 6 weeks or so, but will make a full recovery. Mick was featured in the paper and on the news but still does not recall ...
Puerto Natales, Chile linseypaddock... this exercises, the wind picked up Malwina's jacket and through it into a nearby river where it was immediately swept away. On more than one occasion our big backpacks started to roll away. Putting down anything anywhere without tying it down was absolutely useless. We secured our stuff as best as possible and went to walk around a bit. When we got back, our tent was flipped over and folded up by the wind. The seemingly super stiff poles were bent in ...
Puerto Natales, Patagonia, Chile mrewkowski... BBC site, clicked on the Football link and saw that Liverpool will face.... (drum roll please maestro)

ARSENAL.

I was gutted to miss out on the smaller clubs, but it will be an incredible game and a great test against a fantastic team who seem to be having a bit of a wobble at the ...
Puerto Natales, Chile al_fey... enough to follow his rapid fire American English! The poor Swiss couple opposite us looked like they were drowning after about 30 seconds...

He talked for just over an hour and gave what seemed to be very good advice on the best routes to take, the best time to devote to each route, where to stay, what to bring, and most importantly, what to expect.

The Liverpool game was due to start at 4:45pm local time, so at 4:30pm I had to excuse ...
