Today (Saturday) we're having a day off and spending it at the Speke Resort in Kampala. It's a very smart place on the shores of Lake Victoria and has a large swimming pool.
Juliet was about to apply her sun cream when we noticed that what she thought was sun cream was actually Spanish hairspray. She had been using it all day yesterday at Sanga and wondered why it had not been very effective!
Last night we got back to the hotel just before 9 so we sat down to eat at about 9.30 and had a good meal. Because it is graduation week at one of the universities there seem to be parties every night. By 11 the party in the hotel had just about finished. When Julia and I went to bed there was a party going outside our window but outside the hotel compound. This morning Joe and Tom were woken up at 6.45 by a man hammering furniture together right outside their window. They were not happy as today we were not setting off until 9am and this was to be our lie in day!! Every day i seem to write that each day has been hotter than the previous one. We discovered that in addition to their 6 children Samuel and Blessed have 2 adopted children so there are 10 living in the house which is quite small. When we got back to the church they told us of their plans to build a Primary School for 200 students on land next to the church. The land would cost ...
