Back in Thailand!
Joepie, terug in Thailand.
Chiang Mai
So we last left you
just before we were about to take the night train to Chiang Mai. We were very
sceptical but it turned out to be the best form of transport we've used so far.
We stayed in 2nd class which meant we had to beds both top bunks which were spacious
and comfortable. There was a Japanese family below in the …
Temples, tigers and battered elephants
Ok, we're not having much luck with the travel arrangements so far...We have made our mind up that traveling in Thailand is just hopeless and useless, never believe what they tell you or what they show you! We booked a VIP 1st class bus ticket (please keep the 1st class in mind through this story) and were told there would be a minibus picking us …
A brief trip through Thailand

Elephant Nature Park or Jurassic Park?!

Lek seems to be one of the only people training elephants through reward rather than the traditional spike on a stick. And the elephants come to the park to retire, most being allowed to roam free during the day followed by their specific keeper/trainer called a Mahout. At night they are chained for their own safety. Only sleeping for 4 hours a night they have in the past ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsHollanda Montri Guesthouse Chiang Mai
Can't do more to help - Sawat is always there to give you a helping hand along with Ann!! We have a lovely stay - rooms are clean and well kept. The area is just outside of the town overlooking the river so it's quite and peaceful and it's only 60bt for a tuck tuck into town. Food is lovely - maybe a bit expensive depending on what you eat. Overall it was a lovely experience to stay here and we were sad to leave!
