Despite a sunny start the fog came down again because of the nearness to the river. It is quite a wetland area. We left hwy 101 and took the 255 to Eureka via the bridges over the Humbolt River connecting Woodley Island. The fog disappeared so we had a walk round Eureka's Historic Old Town. Pity the shops were not open! We had a little more fog leaving Eureka. It it did not last long. Again we ...

... and the bay, many elevation changes, redwood and sycamore trees and fog. Lots of fog. The guys in the pro shop said the fog may or may not burn off. It did for a short time, then came back again. Even though it was cold and windy, we had a really fun time playing golf there.

When we left the golf course, we headed to Lombard Street, the crookedest (is that a word?) street in the US. Great views of the city and bay. Fun driving down it but I sure wouldn't want to live ...

... pitched the tent. Lots of kids, on pogo sticks, scooting, biking around. Camp site #59, close to restroom (with hot shower and warm water), little to none poison oak. If one can bear with the children's noise, it's a fine site.
