... in Bangkok which I politely, but firmly refused. 'Why you no see big Buddha?!' was the prevailing response to my refusal. Or scrambled English words to that effect anyway. I found another driver who seemed to agree to my quite simple demand of being taken to the standing Buddha. '100 baht' he barked 'Nope.' Obstinated Harry 'What you pay?' barked Mr Tuk Tuk. '20 baht.' Harry chanced. 'Ok we go now.' And off we went, twenty metres down the road until Mr Tuk Tuk ...

A lovely, long, lazy looking Buddha

This morning it was up early and catching a boat to head towards Wat Pho - the giant reclining Buddha! She's 46m long and 15m high - I don't actually know if she's a she but she looked like one, all happy and chilled out lying down. The plan was then to kill the day my going to see a film, but nothing was on or at the right time. So headed back ...

... and didn't seem phased, we were pretty desperate to just get to the hotel even more! I had to hurry as Julian came and met me from the hotel having told Craig he popped out to an ATM machine which was obviously a lie as he'd been gone over half an hour! Lauren didn't fancy it and wanted to sleep for the journey ahead so Julian dragged me through the crowd having just met him after talking for a few months just on what's app! He went into the bar they were ...

While recovering from jet lag I spent the day getting to know the area around the Victory Monument. I was excited to see the overwhelming choices of food, clothes, banks, 711s, and people watching. The Victory Monument is a great backdrop for all the excitement.

Outside my window there are yelling street vendors that quickly become white noise to the city's action. I have already fallen in love at first site (well second time around ...
