Jaren and I have gone different directions now-he's off to Vietnam and I'm to see Andamo in Cambodia. I'm happy to be alone-it's what I prefer when travelling.

... they made a fire and cooked us kebabs and we had rice and bread and for dessert.. satsumas. hehe. We then trekked through the jungle for 2 hours where we ended up at the river and kayaked for 1 and 1/2 hours, it was really beautiful. Lots of water buffalo and nice views, such a nice way to spend xmas day. On the morning of our 2nd day in Vientiane I decided to hire a bicycle for the day, this cost me $1. I then set off with a few friends to explore the local tourist hot spots. The roads are noticeably much quieter in Laos so it felt relatively safe cycling on the roads. Whilst cycling around Vientiane the wonderfully detailed external decoration of the buildings really did stand out, and it immediately became apparent that great care and attention is put in to the aesthetics ...

... Luang Prabang salad with home made mayonaise and crispy fried rice noodles coated in egg with chicken were demonstrated by the instructors for us to then recreate at our own station. The whole group sat down to eat our creations, the meals were great although the mayonaise was a bit too runny!
