... Arthur’s Pass to get back to Christchurch. The day was glorious and so was the ride apart from the knobs who sped past, overtaking despite the yellow lines and the tourists who you really have to watch.
We stopped in the middle of the pass for a bite to eat. We were promptly visited by a very determined and persistent Kea. He tried to join us at the table and shaped up to me when I tried to shoo him away. He got a hefty squirt of water in the face ...
We didn't arrive in Westport until around 6pm after a long days travelling. A few of us hired surf boards and went to play in the sea - it was raining and bleak and the waves were enormous, but we had so much fun playing in the surf. The previous 2 days we spent in Hanmer Springs. This was ...
... the boys were showered, which they always love at caravan park shower blocks. They are the best of friends at and after shower time. Still, what should have been an early night to bed got rather late - I think its because the daylight hours are stretching into the evening...it doesn't get dark until well after 6.30pm now.
Two more days on the South Island and then crossing over to the mainland (or is it the other way around?)
