      ... pack, and a constant inventory of fruit and veg from markets and grocery stores, we have self-catered likely 2/3 of our meals. Picnics are fun, even if on the hood of the car…hobs (hot plates) at our domiciles make us happy.

      ... buy some small souvenirs too... We continued up the coast from Greystone, where we rejoined after Arthur Pass, towards Westport. That stretch of the beach is one of the nicest I have seen.       The next morning was an early start. Presents and toys everywhere. We had breakfast with Taryn & Jake and other family members before leaving them mid morning.       ... and this small road formed. Dave gets in front and when it's clear calls out to ride as fast as we can we can make it safely round. All good and we are back to the regular two lane arrangement. We have found drivers quite good so far. We get off the road and give way to any big vehicles and keep left as best we can for cars.
