    ... have to keep all those Czechs happy and make sure they don’t go thirsty! Pilsner Urquell has been brewed at this same brewery since 1842, and they say the Pilsen lager inspired more than 2/3 of the world’s pilsner labelled beers. Thank you Pilsen! The best part of the tour was at the end where we tasted unfiltered and non-pasteurised Pilsner Urquell beer tapped straight from the oak lager barrels. Ahhhhhhhh!

    ... subject of signs, it's very pleasing to see very few traffic or other signs around, no sign clutter!! There's a lot to like about this part of Germany, the people are helpful, friendly, courteous to cyclists and go quietly about their work. The only downside I can see is their smoking habits, everyone smokes! There are cigarette vending machines in hotels, in the streets and even the side of the road, a pack of twenty costs ...

    ... amp; dignitaries and is a huge building on a hilltop. Saw several large freight barges on the Danube and another cruise ship this morning. Lots of crops in very good condition along the Danube here; wheat, barley, oats (a little), canola, rye, maize and a fodder crop that looked like silver beet.
