    Whilst out and about yesterday, we saw a beach with potentially good surfing, not something we were expecting at Kauai at this time of year and so we go back today to give Andy the opportunity to try it out.     ... situation, locals are on watch and call the local volunteer protection group once a monk seal comes ashore. The volunteers then rope off the area on the beach and plant signs explaining that the seal is alive and well, just resting. They even have names for all of the regulars, and can give all sorts of information to people about the seals. It was really cool. We got to see 2 seals on the same beach, one of which was pregnant.

    ... plantation tour, we went for an early dinner at Keoki's Paradise restaurant in Poipu. I had the marlin and Sheila had the grass fed hamburger. The food was excellent. Then we enjoyed the best part - a free piece of Hula Pie.

    Another great day in Paradise.

    ... s Bath, where the surf pounds the rocks and where 29 people have drowned, mostly by being swept off the a ledge high above the surf by the occasional rogue wave. We stayed back from the edge, but more importantly kept an eye out on the incoming waves.

    The drive back home to the South Shore was a frustrating ordeal of rush hour traffic in and around Kapa'a where we learned the real meaning of bad traffic. ...

    ... for the water volleyball. We were put on opposite sides but we lost and Andrews team won. We had a ball, Andrew even enjoyed himself. We played three games, the last we extended and abridged it to make it last longer. That went for an hour. We got out and ordered another Painkiller, I suggested Andrew get a bucket of beer. I knew I had him them, we were settling in and have an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon. More drinks had for me, I know these are potent but ...
