... there- serious. A pickup truck plowed into a rental car with two people in it. Rammed driver door, cannot believe so much damage in a parking lot! Passenger taken out and to hospital. Driver pinned and using jaws of life and we left then. So sad, looked like probably tourists. What a thing to happen on vacation. Went Pau Hana for drinks and dinner. BBQ ribs are great. Said farewell to Shaunesy. Took our wine glasses to Bobby and Sissy (Kristen) at ...

Leaving any vacation is never an easy thing to do. Reality, minus 10 and jobs awaited back in Wisconsin. I wish I could say the return from LIH-LAX-ORD was as dramatic as the outbound, but it wasn't. As delayed was our arrival onto Kauai, our return was quick and painless. I'm sure most of my audience has never heard of that song...don't worry you aren't missing anything, but it was fun to sing regardless. What a fabulous final full day though, great waves, more time with an old friend, new friends, beers, karaoke, and one more night with the boys. Another day to remember!!!!

The waves on the East Side were unimpressive yet again so I took the morning to do some planning for my future travels. I discovered the Future Music Festival-an annual summer festival in Australia-and decided I wanted to go. As a result, I booked my flight from New Zealand to OZ, bought my ticket to the Adelaide show, and got hooked up with a place to stay for the first three nights I'm in town. Stoked!!! Here is a link to the music lineup for the ...

... view of the ocean. But as I said, I had to keep up.

Ron was on point for most of the day and he set a "brisk" pace. So brisk, I'm certain we passed all hikers that had started the trail before us that morning within the first two miles. Two miles in, the trail takes hikers to the previously mentioned Hanakapi'ai Beach. For most people, this is as far as they go. This is also a camping destination for some and there were quite a few hippies that ...
