Dating back to the 13th century, the structure was a Dominican church until Maastricht was invaded by Napoleon in 1794 and the group was forced out of the country. Werchter: The whole festival was set up just away from the small Belgian town of Werchter. Walked in to the town one day to stock up on beer supplies. I can imagine it would be an extremely quaint town most of the year until it gets taken over by the annual festival.
