... into a stunning church that was built in 1680. It was in the grounds of a convent that dated back to 1380. The history here is completely mind blowing for us who live in a country where history only goes back to approx 1840. After this we went back to Tante Jo's for dinner then home for bed as tomorrow we venture off further up north with just the 5 of ...

In the morning, Stanley and Corrie took us to two little towns to see some working windmills. In the first town, Terheijden (don't ask me to pronounce that), we went inside the windmill. It is actually in use. They mill the flour there, which was interesting to see, and they have a little store on the ground level. We went up three flights ...

... a wonderful cheese and tomato dip and calamari for Jan, his favorite. Later we had plates of meats, fries, and more calamari. And more wine, of course!

We are settled in our little apartment which is so large that it makes Jan think he died and went to heaven. We're not unpacked yet, so I don't have my own pictures to show you, but Stanley and Corrie took a few. We'll be doing some sightseeing tomorrow, so we'll hopefully have more pictures for you then.

... being careful not to walk on the bike path. Of course, if you know me at all, you know I was snapping photos like mad. Every angle presented unique stories of the area. I found birds. The water plants were lush and undisturbed. The walk was very peaceful, for the most part. (Naturally, tour groups came.) We walked nearly 2 miles, plus going through a windmill museum. We were below sea level even on the dike, emphasizing the need for windmills in this part of the world.
