... finished the day of touring at 5pm saw Yannick to see how to turn off the Sony Playstation (it was humming all last night). Had early showers and dinner. It is a challenge cooking with an exhaust fan that doesn't work and living in a basement with only a little window to get rid of the smoke. It is our last night here thank god. ... in the city has offered to host me for the week through couch surfing which is great! Went with Alison, Nicola and Chaumeil first to the bus station, and after about 20 mins at the kiosk and speaking to 3 members of staff got all my journeys sorted for 200 dollars which I'm pleased with! ... Labrador coastline (schist), with steep cliffs. The puffins are so cute. I didn't realise they could swim so well, and it was very cute watching them dive into the water and swim flat out against the current!

Lastly the Sub-Antarctic Islands. The landscape evokes the shore of a volcanic island lying between the Antarctic Peninsula and the tip of South America. The penguins really are amazing especially the old wise looking ones ...
