... haha and tired! i think traveling and all the excitement really just took it out of me! We walked around and then went to the comedy club! There were only three seats left together t the very front on the side- I was like ummm no lets not sit there we are going to get picked on! Well I am sure you ALL know what happened because this is my soap opera life! We sat at the front and guess who was picked on the whole time! By the end of the night everyone knew ...
London, United Kingdom lindsey-canada... m going with that. This morning I checked in online for my flight. Scary. I ummed and ahhhed over which seat I wanted, and in the end - in typical angie style - I went with the one the airline had allocated me in the first place. I printed out my boarding pass and I'm good to go!! I have eaten a shed load this morning already. Apparently I need to eat ...
London, England, United Kingdom angiehug... for my girls. I should have got a shot of me posing with Kylie. I was too busying taking the shots for everyone else I forgot about myself. She looked well preserved, yet my head still spun around!!! She's still got it. I'm not going to say much about what there is to see in Madame Tussards, but I will say I found it great and absolutely enjoyable. So much so, that I bought a couple of souvenirs. When you ride through the Spirit of London you get a photo taken of you in the ...
London, United Kingdom supalen... sleepy English Sundays filed with tea, fresh walks in the countryside and a great deal of quiet, safe and unadventurous fireside relaxation). But as I WAS mentally preparing myself to cavort with Sudan, Germany has to be just a little disappointing (ok - I DID retract my views on Abu Dhabi, so I know what could happen). So how can I live on the edge in Bonn? Perhaps I could walk around backwards ...
Stansted, England, United Kingdom nomadicHe says: Thankfully Gaynor was at home when I arrived back in Leicester so there wasn't any major crisis. After an interesting dinner we were meant to be meeting up with a friend of Gaynor's in town at 9.30. However, with the map and directions in Gaynor's hands we didn't arrive at the designated place until 10:30, just in time to see them disapear down the street in the back of a taxi after giving up on us... Beccy had earlier mentioned the pub where they were ...
London, England, United Kingdom tomngaynor... for permanency at the British Museum then hours of group tasks etc aswell. But today they rang me up and said they couldnt be happier to keep me on full-time permanent!! Yay, feeling reassured now that I'm coming back to a job in January after my extensive travels and money spending. Was thinking of living off my overdraft for a few months but that problem looks to be solved. So, to ...
London, United Kingdom annastelter... s footgear had taken on a malign presence, lurking in the closet, frightening housekeepers with odors suggestive of decomposing bodies, announcing the arrival of the Hemphills in classy restaurants (masquerading as the Limburger cheese course), and in general offending both the noses and the sensibilities of the ...
London, United Kingdom oneyearaway... to soak up the last bits of english cuz it might be the last for quite some time! We also had to repack our gear to try to get under the 20 kg limit for checked luggage (and none for carry-on)...we came close, 4 kilos over, so we had to pay 24 pounds. Yvonne's mom and sister were waiting for us in Munich to take us to our Europe "homebase" of Landshut. Even though we'd only driven in England for two days, it was weird driving on the right side of the road again. Funny how fast you adapt to change.
Stansted, United Kingdom vagabonderzAfter an amazing 9 (well, just under) months, I set off from Peru after saying bye to Katherine at Lima airport (she's off to live in Barbados for a while!!). Managed to survive my first ever solo- flight by watching the beach and sleeping a lot. But the trip clearly wasn't over yet! Landed in Santiago, realised my flight had been cancelled due to bad weather so got ...
London, United Kingdom harrietsThe green fields of Essex beckon as we hurtle over London with views of the all the other planes flying in n out of the capital. We don't think about carbon taxes yet but there is an alarming amount of metal up here criss crossing the sky. Who'd be an air traffic controller in this? Stansted is all very straightforward but we are again struck by the foul cigarettee smoke as we enter the arrivals hall. Arrivals hall is far too grand a word. It is more ...
