A pleasant stay in basic accommodation with great food. The plus point was the trekking tour organised by the guest house. The best trek so far!

Excellent place to stay, simple clean and very helpful staff. The highlight would be the tours they run in to Khao Yai park. An amazing stay for the pair of us and very cheap.

Basic, clean accommodation and excellent tours

I strongly recommend Greenleaf for everyone who is not looking for comfort but adventure and a warm welcome.
I had both the half a day tour and full day tour for Khao Yai and both of our guides were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the surroundings as well as the animals. So both of the tours were great.
They also serve good food especially if you like spicy curries.
Even if you are not staying there try to check out their tours before you sign up for another.

After sampling many Thai delights we decided to have a go at cooking some ourselves and signed up to May Kaidee's cookery school for the day, we declined the infamous Cooking with Poo because as tempting as it sounded we couldn't be bothered to travel any further than the end of our road. We had already eaten in may Kaidee's vegan restaurant twice …

    Day 118 - Sunday 5th January

We chose the public bus to get to the guesthouse outside the national park. This was the cheapest option and once we found ourselves at the bus stop and on the bus by 11am it felt like the wisest option too. For once we had already booked the accommodation in advance so we rang them on the way to organise being …

Up at 7 for breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast and fresh fruit. Set off for the park in the back of the truck with a lovely old Thai couple from California and a Korean guy that was over in Thailand teaching. The Thai couple were over for the first time in 35 years visiting family and came on the trip by accident. She had plimsolls and nice …

The tuk tuk driver did turn up for the early morning ride at 7.45am. He wasn't quite as happy as yesterday and I felt a little bad that we had questioned giving him all the money and holding some back to make sure he came for us. We arrived at the train station to find that the train was delayed by 2 hours. Whilst we were sat there we had the stray …

The train journey was really good apart from an hour and a half hour delay. We had second class seats this time at a cost of 83 baht (£1.70) and it was money well spent. Reclineable airline seats and great views from the window. Vendors coming round all the time selling drinks, dried fish, chicken and insects. We went safely for Mama noodles …
