Nice view, nice and tidy room. A bit loud at night, difficult to have continuous sleep due to neighborhood noise. Internet signal is too weak to reach the rooms and even next to the router pretty slow.

... it had to be! We came up with a two day itinerary covering everything on my list of "to do"s for a reasonable price and an agreement was made. That evening I thought I would eat at a little restaurant next door. It was a traditional Indonesian place run by a family. There was a birthday party just about to start so I said I would leave them to it but they insisted I stayed. Two 10 year old girls in their best frocks were sharing a birthday and the hoard ...

It was difficult to sit on this structure while listening to what happened inside of it as well as hearing that water buffalo are sacrificed pretty much where we were sitting. Water buffalo and wild pigs are often sacrificed in these villages for ceremonies and their skulls are kept on the outside of the houses in the villages as memories. Some bones are also kept inside the female structures ...

Off the coast of Lombok island are 3 islands, Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. Collectively these are known as the Gili islands. The boat ride to and from the Gili islands was a bit scary due to the rough seas. It's the rainy season and the Indian Ocean and the seas around it are rough. On the way to Gili T (short for Gili Trawangan), Gili T became the first stop instead of the last stop because the seas were becoming rough and choppy. The captain decided to ...

... Now, at the fashionable early time of 1930, we're going to call it a night and retire to watch a movie. Well that was the original plan before my stomach turned to knots and I spent the rest of the night sat staring at the bathroom wall. Charming. And here I was thinking the sate was the safe option. Speaking of chickens there was one on the bus today in a hessian bag. It came on alive but suffered a mishap when Sam's pack fell on it and off it went to chicken heaven. ...

... we saw a cuttle fish that changes colours, some turtles, and a spotted eagle ray on the first dive. The second dive was my first, and almost my last, drift dive. I may have had a few issues about running into people, namely Lach, and I think he was about ready to leave me down there! Oops! I don't think I am as much a fan of the drift diving. It basically means you let the current take you along, and I hate not being in as much control. Anyways, on that ...
