... and thats for every flight. So we had to come up with a cunning plan. We are using a courier to send a case over to Singapore to our hotel ready for our cruise. It may seem like a lot of messing around but this is our holiday of a life time and we want to take suits and dresses we have bought for the cruise and have room for a few (very few say's Tony) momentos to ...
Blackpool, England, United Kingdom macblueWell, as I will no doubt be running round like a mad woman tomorrow I thought it best to start this today! My last full day at home for some time. I am packed and ready to go!!
I am very nervous and cant really think of anything beyond tonight at the ...
... to see if I could locate her bag and stuff... and once we found it (thankfully!) we discovered that her camera was missing.. and still is missing (along with the shoe...). We hoped to discover who this camera-shoe-werido thief was, but since Jess can't remember what happened (apparently she even got into a fight!), there is a possibility she left it somewhere herself, or donated it to a homeless person even (one nice black high heel shoe can be counted as ...
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom katie.pittWe are sitting with a huge pile of travel guides, maps, notebooks, post it notes and general accumulated info in front of us wondering where to start!
The itinery is almost sorted out in terms of countries and cities. We've got the MASTA health brief and the FCO no go areas. We think we've got Visa requirments in hand and the boring (but necessary ...
We headed back into Liverpool today and to an enormous park. It is called Sefton Park. In Sefton Park there is a boating lake, a Victorian glass house (The Palm House), a bronzed statue of Peter Pan, a ...
Liverpool, England, United Kingdom kevtheplatypus... DW Stadium (JJB renamed - long story - you'll have to read the book I bought John on the life of Dave Whelan - he was a local who established JJB stadium for use by both league and football and has now set up his own company DW in competition with JJB in the sportsgoods business) and to watch the Kangaroos play in person. I've only ever watched them on TV. As John said, there was no real booming atmosphere, but the crowd was ...
Wigan, England, United Kingdom polliesTow truck 2, turns up at 15:29 and we are off again for the next leg of the journey, Stirling Services to Lancaster Services. This journey takes around 4 hours and I have a nice chat with the driver, Jim all the way. We phone ahead and arrange the next tow truck to meet us at Lancaster at 19:15, guess what? Yes, it wasn't there and I am told it won't be there until 20:15 and it finally arrives at 20:30
Lancaster, England, United Kingdom peterward... Hall bridge, but soon moved on 200 yards due to noisy chickens and hedge trimmer. Finished reading "The Shack". Everyone must read this book. We had some dips that James had made yesterday. Checked tide times on a website - they are different to what I was told by Liverpool Marina before we left home. They advised that 8am would be the best time to go, but Liverpool high tide is at 0612, so that would mean punching the tide all the way to Eastham. Will need to check this out further.
Burscough, England, United Kingdom jamesandhazel... was ok, but not loud as I might have expected. Quite afternoon in the place.
To pub or not to pub
Just after the game we joined the King Harry's for a post match drinking session, and after some Tetley's we headed back in town for a night out until 4am.
Albert Dock
To give some fresh sunday air to our hangover, we headed to the Albert Dock. The Albert Dock is a complex of dock buildings and warehouses. It was ...
John took me to Blackpool. He may have wanted to show me a UK beach resort. The street along the beach was full of decorations. I took a picture of his profile in the car. It was just a memory of Blackpool. We were on the way from Preston, where we met his old friend, and John talked about the word "love", because people there used "love" meaning "you" very often, when they talk to someone, like "Good morning, love!". That sounded awkward to him.
