Liverpool was a balance between York and Manchester. The city life definitely accessible but it was still cosy and romantic. We enjoyed walking along the docks and looking at the ships moored along the shore of the river whilst devouring some epically delicious homemade fudge!
Highlights definitely include the evening spent at the Cavern Club singing and dancing to Beatles tribute songs and the Tuk Tuk drive through the city.
... the last quiz and watching the dancers and then, a special late night cabaret featuring Bethany Gore, who was the female lead singer with the Boudicca Show Company. Then we had one final (free!) drink before going back to our cabin and finishing off our packing, before putting the suitcases outside our door for collection.
Then it was off to bed, around midnight, for our last night on the Boudicca. :-(
This morning I was very tired and it was difficult to get out of bed, probably due to the lost hour and the fact that the mornings are getting darker the further north we go. So it was about 9.40am before I got out of my pit, and got washed and dressed. We then decided to go and get some exercise, so we went up and did five laps (equivalent to one mile) round the promenade deck in the crisp air.
Then it was back to our cabin to get our Fred Olsen ...
... on the elegant style. :-)
Then I got a glass of fizz to enjoy back in our cabin, before it was time to get ready, dressed in our glad-rags. I wore a gorgeous floor-length black velvet off-the-shoulder gown, with a black lace choker and silver platform shoes, and Trevor looked very smart in his dinner suit with a red bow-tie and cummerbund.
