I took German classes just before we left on our trip. My instructor is a 30 something German woman who married a Texan and now lives in kerrville. She told us about the hundreds of public wellness centers across Germany. Any town of any size has one...there are over 1000 in all.
This is not to be confused with a gym...no exercise is done here...only relaxation. We got our chance in Meersburg. Harry ...

Meersburg has made it to the list of my all time favorite towns. It is on the north side of Lake Konstanze and was another German city spared bombing. Consequently it's medieval architecture is evident in just about everything. So many people out today. It boasts the largest castle in Germany and has the most incredible lakeside promenade. The city has one large island that is a hiker and bikers dream. It is also the home of a huge island wise market garden industry. We had an amazing day out with Phil and Alison sightseeing in the Austrian Mountains near Friedrichshafen. We first visited the Breitechklamm Gorge which was just mind blowing. This gorge walk goes along for about 800m and is maybe 100m deep. It is so narrow that usually you can't see the sky.
