Island in the middle of a Lake: Bled
... we went to Bled which was amazing. From the castle you could see the entire island and the lake surrounding it. Then from the ground the castle looked so beautiful. It was such a unique and beautiful place. We walked through the castle that is now a museum and see someone use a printing press. It was cool.

Summer Toboggan
... off round a few bends. Then had time for a drink at the bottom of the slopes in the crisp sunshine before setting off for the airport.
Stopped briefly on the way at Bled for a last wander round the lake and a last bit of cake! Once we reached the airport we had a little picnic on the grass outside, where I'm sure I saw a rat/vole thing, before checking in and jetting home.

Bovec rafting
Had a nutritious breakfast of a warm chocolate croissant accompanied by a hot chocolate before setting out for our drive to Bovec to go rafting! To get there we had to drive through the extremely scenic Vrsic pass (the highest mountain road in all of Slovenia) which rises up to 1611 meters in a series of 50 hairpin bends, before descending into the Soca Valley.

Mountain Hike
... We were rewarded with some stunning views aswell as we ascended up.
Eventually we emerged out of the wooded slopes and found ourselves at the top of the ski slope with a great view looking over Kranjska Gora and a glimpse of the Austrian mountains with many peaks on show from the Alps range.

From here we followed the river up through the valley. It was lovely with the orange and red autumn leaves, the bright blue sky and the chalky rocks by the vivid river. We stopped at a nice spot by a waterfall for a picnic before continuing further up deeper into the mountain valley. By the way, peanut crisps are AMAZING!! They're like wotsits but peanut flavour. Seriously tasty and addictive.
