      Euro Rail to Switzerland

... street but once out of the terminal we quickly found our hotel, St Gottard, which was very close to the train station. We checked in, found a bar on the street and then headed back into the hotel for dinner and bed. Nice day of travelling and Zurich looks like a pretty city, reminds me of Melbourne a bit too. Trams in the city center and lots of trees around, something we didn't see much of in ...

      Neuschwanstein Castle

A travel blog entry by jlmcclure on Oct 27, 2014

Up and about at 7am and after some brekky we took a taxi to Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), where we started our tour to King Ludwig's castle. It is believed this castle is the idea behind Walt Disney's Snow White castle. The castle is quite a way out of Munich so off we go. ... his brother Otto (interestingly committed to an asylum for the insane at a young age...bad genes in this branch of the family?) until the age of 18 when his father died and he became king. And it was from his bedroom at Hohenschwangau that he trained his telescope toward the mountains above, and watched the construction of the extravagant Neuschwanstein, another of his castles doomed never to be finished as that inconvenient bankruptcy popped ...

So what did you think of our view? Not too shabby....

Traditional brekky of water, OJ, tea, coffee, boiled egg, bread rolls, ham, cheese, jams......

Said goodbye to our hosts and the alpacas across the road.

Went into town and bought Leon some new sunnies as his others had broken mysteriously and me a new camera as my other was damaged.

Our first tank fill - to full was 64€ for 45 ...
