    ... the architecture and the paintings etc are amazing, but the way in which you're rushed from room to room and then spat out the back door like an unwelcome house guest ruins the whole experience. I'll be happy to go to Fussen again, I'll even give you directions to the castles. When you get back I'll be in a pub in the old city drinking cold Bavarian bier, and looking forward to hearing about how "great" the castles were...I'll even be able to get us directions back to the train station. ...

    So enjoyed our time with Andrew, Sara and Emerson but all good things come to an end. Up early as they were all setting off for the mountains so Andrew could go mountain biking with a friend and "the girls" could go shopping. Said goodbye to them and to Ursula, and to Gerhard and family next door, then set off for Austria. Lunch on the shore of Bodensee at Rorschach, watching ...

    ... round the castle were at 5pm, we decided against going inside (the €23 each ticket price also helped) and walked up to have a closer look - it was a half hour walk up the hill, the castle was very impressive and so were the views around... Alot of people were just sitting around waiting for there slot to go inside....

    Woke up in our lovely room and down for a really nice breakfast. Packed up again... Picked up our pure booked ticket from hotel and drove short distance up to castles. Didn't know much about them, but there are two very close together, and they were the summer and hunting residences of the Bavarian royal family.     So what did you think of our view? Not too shabby....

    Traditional brekky of water, OJ, tea, coffee, boiled egg, bread rolls, ham, cheese, jams......

    Said goodbye to our hosts and the alpacas across the road.

    Went into town and bought Leon some new sunnies as his others had broken mysteriously and me a new camera as my other was damaged.

    Our first tank fill - to full was 64€ for 45 ...
