... if the day was a stop at a small local restaurant on the bank of the Krka river. The theme was woods and water. All food came from the forest or the river. Venison and trout were offered for the main meal, with several appetizers made from, trout ( three kinds) , mushrooms , horseradish, zucchini, along with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and local herbs. ... Croatia if the trains work out and other important things like that.

... was not as cheap as Croatia, but I think a lot of that had to do with Slovenia being on the Euro and Croatia being on the Kuna (where the exchange rate is in a ball park of 5-1).
That being said I found you could go cafe hopping in the afternoon get a drink at every place you wanted and still spend less then 12 dollars. Not a bad way to spend a day people watching while walking away with money in your pocket.
After a (suprisingly) pleasant sleep in our prison cell we headed downstairs to the hostel cafe/for breakfast. we ate the usual cereal and toast but were treated to some eggs and other more creative toast toppings other than the usual nutella and jam. We had slowed the pace slightly as the last few weeks had been non stop and we knew the next few stops were going to be jam packed. ... that lit up the pretty buildings in town and saw many people strolling along past cafes and bars. We decided it was time however to go get some rest so we could be up early to do a walking tour and explore this town fully in the morning. It had been another long travelling day so we walked home, got into our cell, went to bed just before lights out. Have to throw a few jail references in there!!! Hopefully we’ll be let out on parole tomorrow to explore ...
