    ... city gate the Arco dei Gavi. By this time the clouds were rolling in and it was time to head off towards Slovenia and Ljubljana and a rather damp picnic on the way.

    When we arrived in Ljubljana it was 13C and raining. The receptionist said we had arrived on a historic day, as it had not been that cold for 40 years in July.... brrrr. We had to search for jeans and jumpers and headed into town for a warming Slovenian supper.

    ... to see the city by daylight. The deserted and dimly lit alleys with quirky street art and graffiti had transformed into medieval cobblestoned thoroughfares with hoards of locals meandering to work. The weather was overcast and the threat of rain lingered in the air. I think this added to the dramatic transformation.     ... as Rox had a lovely sleep and I updated Blogs. It had just turned into twilight by the time we reached Ljubljana. I had printed off the Hostelworld directions and a pretty crude map so we attempted to find out way to our accommodation for the night. About 5 minutes into the walk we had found the right turn we were looking for into the neighbourhood that housed our unique hostel for the night.
